Philippines Attractions

Essentially, the Philippines combine a compelling history with jaw-dropping natural beauty. The diversity of the attractions will not go unnoticed. The medieval Spanish walled enclave of Intramuros on the southern bank of the Pasig River, packed with historic buildings and churches is equally as impressive as the fierce Mount Mayon. Laden with historical architecture, much of it religiously affiliated, the buildings within the country are an insightful reminder of a complex history, often marred by conflict.

The country has many volcanoes, mountains and limestone caves. Subterranean forces have sculpted some of Asia’s finest caves in Palawan's Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, nominated for the “New seven wonders of the world nature competition” alongside the Chocolate Hills. The Philippines has 500 species of coral and over 600 species of birds.

The archipelago is a stunning display of both manmade and natural beauty, from the superbly sculpted rice terraces of North Luzon to the cascading and most spectacular Pagsanjan Falls. It is all pretty inspiring.
