Puerto Princesa International Airport

Getting to Palawan by Plane

Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS) is the main gateway to Palawan, the westernmost province in the Philippines. It is helpfully located just 2 km east of the centre of the city. It services flights from local airlines like Cebu Pacific, Philippines Airlines and AirAsia, with arrivals mostly from Cebu and Manila.

Originally built by prisoners of war during the Japanese occupation of the island in World War II, it used to use crushed coral to illuminate the runway for night landings! Opened as a domestic airport in the ‘80s, Puerto Princesa Airport went through a full renovation that includes the extension of its runway to 2,600 metres and the addition of a brand new terminal in May 2017.
